John Jurgiel has served as a Senior Industrial Hygiene Consultant on numerous projects, conducted exposure assessments, qualitative risk assessments, Industrial Hygiene program development, air and surface monitoring, employee training, emergency response, auditing, indoor air quality investigations, mold surveys, and surveys addressing occupational safety issues. His experience encompasses a wide variety of scenarios, including manufacturing facilities, maintenance shops, laboratories, field locations, schools and universities, offices, residential units, and chemical manufacturing ranging from small specialty operations to large-scale, integrated facilities.
John serves as the main industrial hygiene consultant for several corporations and manufacturing companies that have facilities in the Midwest and throughout the US. In this role, he conducts routine onsite industrial hygiene surveys, advises on corporate policies, and responds to OSHA inquiries, litigation complaints, and other upset conditions that arise.
John started his career as a corporate industrial hygienist in the chemical industry in central Michigan and as a field industrial hygienist on the Texas Gulf Coast. In these roles, he conducted in-depth exposure assessments of, and developed control methodologies for, a variety of chemical and physical stressors for chemical plants that manufactured chlorinated ethanes, chlorinated methanes, acetone, phenol, and diphenyl oxide, as well as for the Pipeline and Aviation departments. John was also a member of the Emergency Response team, and provided industrial hygiene support to the team and the Fire/Security departments. During his tenure at one of the world’s largest chemical companies, John served on various technical committees for noise and hearing conservation, engineering controls, respiratory protection, and personal protective equipment program development. He also served on the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) audit team, and contributed to two successful OSHA VPP certifications/re-certifications.
With his combined engineering and industrial hygiene background, John has also become an expert in indoor air quality and mold-related issues in both commercial and residential settings. He has a tremendous amount of experience to efficiently assess these issues in a complete manner – allowing for a quick resolution to the problem. John has worked with numerous construction companies, property management firms, insurance companies, remediation contractors, and individual homeowners, and is familiar with the potential added complexity of these arrangements. When required, he has provided litigation support, and conducted numerous depositions serving as an expert witness for these types of projects.

Dylan Romo began his career as a field industrial hygienist and, subsequently, as an industrial hygiene supervisor in the chemical industry on the Texas Gulf Coast. In these roles, he conducted in-depth exposure assessments of, and developed control methodologies for, a variety of chemical and physical stressors, including: molten metals, organopesticides, chlorinated solvents, amine-based products, and naturally-occurring radiation. During his tenure at two of the world’s largest chemical and petrochemical companies, Dylan served as a technical specialist for noise and hearing conservation, established decontamination procedures for an on-site treatment, storage, & disposal (TS&D) facility, assisted in the development of a site-wide ergonomics medical-management program, served on a corporate Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) audit team, and contributed to two successful OSHA VPP certifications/re-certifications.
In 1999, Dylan transitioned to the commercial insurance arena where, for 17 years, he served simultaneously as a practicing field industrial hygienist, a coordinator of third-party industrial hygiene consulting services, and an occupational disease subject matter expert. Greg Young is a Senior Project Manager/Supervisor for Jurgiel & Associates, who began his career in the early years of the asbestos abatement industry, providing abatement oversight as both an asbestos inspector and an air sampling technician. Prior to joining Jurgiel & Associates, Greg was employed as a Quality Control Manager – first by an environmental engineering firm in St. Louis, Missouri and later by an industrial fabrication facility in Springfield, Missouri.
Greg has extensive knowledge related to the different types of abatement methods, regulations, and interpretations that vary from state to state. He currently holds certifications and licensures for asbestos and lead in multiple states and is an expert in conducting asbestos and lead identification surveys, developing operations and maintenance plans, and delivering turnkey abatement management consulting services, which include:
